Tell the voice how to say it.

Every voice on legitimate.one takes delivery cues in square brackets. Write the feeling, the volume or the noise you want, and the line comes back read that way.

Writing a line

A voice short-name, then your message. Use !voices in the streamer's chat to see which names they have enabled.

!trump [shouting] BIG W, BIG W!

The cue goes in square brackets, then a space, then the words it should change. Everything after a cue is spoken that way until the next one.

Where a cue goes

  • [excited] We are so back.

    An emotion at the front of the sentence colours the whole sentence.

  • Chat, [whispering] do not tell him.

    Tone can land mid-line, at the exact point it should take over.

  • He left [sighing] again.

    A sound reads best right after the word it follows.

What does not work

  • Tonight is the night [whispering]

    A cue at the very end has no words left to change.

  • [happy] [furious] Make up your mind.

    Two cues fighting over one sentence. Pick one.

  • (excited) We are so back.

    Parentheses are the older syntax. They get read as text, not delivery.

One feeling at a time

One emotion per sentence. Start a new sentence to change it. Stacking cues on a short line makes the read worse, not stronger.

Write the noise too

Sounds land harder when the text carries them: [laughing] with an actual “Ha, ha, ha”, [groaning] with an “ugh”.

500 characters

Per message, cues included. Longer than that and the bot turns it away rather than cutting you off mid-sentence.
